True story? Funny anyway.

It is said that Bob Toombs, 

that good ole unreconstructed

 Rebel, former general and

 politician, was giving a talk 

when word came in

 of the Chicago fire of Oct. 8-10, 1872. 

Someone apparently came to the lecturn 

and told him, or handed

 him a note, that the great fire in Chicago 

was finally being brought under control and

 that the city still might be saved.

“But, he added, “the wind is in our favor.”
